The German business couple is on course to open their first Oktoberfest pub in Lower Saxony.
The location is everything! Mr Schenkelberg said: ‚We couldn’t have found a better location in the whole of Germany. It’s now time to deliver on our promise to bring fun and excitement to the region of Goslar.‘
The bar is our baby.
The location promises a good turnout for the new to be leaseholders. Many sites of the region have been declared an UNESCO World Heritage. In winter people enjoy skiing at the Wurmberg around the highest harz mountains, in particular the Brocken (1100 meters).
Herr Schenkelberg is able to complete his extensive task to finalise a business plan by consulting marketing experts before final checks of an accountant in terms of viability can begin. ‚Small funds are needed to start [provided the landowner supports the major shake up of the exterior facade] but this should all be within reach‘.. Stefan explains.
The pub and restaurant’s customer service area is ready.
They now look for performing artists to reserve a booking throughout 2019.

Rainer’s Bavarian Grill trailer has left the United Kingdom to find better conditions in Germany.
The owner couple and their son, Trevor, targeted a popular tourist destination area in Lower Saxony, the Harz region where they spent over four weeks in a holiday home in order to test the market…according to their plans. But it turned out different.
Everything started promising for the business couple and they set up their food truck in the city center of Goslar. It was a sunny warm day on a Tuesday in the first week of September.
Curious people passed by early in the morning and asked when they open. The can in its chosen design revealed their offers. Anyway, the ‚can‘ was an eye sore the minute they arrived at the Jakobihofplatz. They hadn’t, at that point, not even opened the serving latches.
It was the lunch trade they prepared for.
Freshly air-fryed cooked Bratwurst and Vegetarian Frankfurters were the favorites that day.
Day 2 of the 16 test days they invisited started the following day (wednesday) this time away from the city center in a rural area two miles up the road where they held their weekly farmers market.
The business couple was eager to continue just as they always did in e.g. Aylesbury/ Buckinghamshire on a very similar market place.
However, this time, the German bureaucracy prevented them from continuing. ‚It felt like becoming bewitched when we learnt about required additional formalities in relation to our license to serve on markets. We found ourselves warmly welcomed by the manager of the licensing department and it felt like they didn’t want to let us go! Our plans were going through the roof at that point as we firmly believed in failure shouldn’t we manage to complete the market testing with satisfying trading results and after 16 days on markets within an initial period of 30 days. We were bewitched as people seem to commonly become in the land of the witches.‘ Stefan Schenkelberg explained with a grin on his face.
They have been a bit over ambitious one would say. Running a business from a holiday flat was a bit of a challenge. So they relaxed and enjoyed to spend time in the Harz whilst a permanent home for them away from the holiday accommodation was to be located.
To keep fit they enjoyed regular jogging sessions through the forest along beautiful lakes and historic places.
By the third week in September eventually the Schenkelberg family found a new home from were they had to begin again to apply for the license for their mobile food business.
They have now found the support they need to grow the mobile food venture and their revised business plan is now with an accountant for an appraisal. Bearing in mind, we are no longer living in the United Kingdom and are subject to extensive bureaucratic procedures that could last for months rather then weeks.
Gourmet Express Mobile Catering’s first iconic health conscious food trailer ‚Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil‘ is looking to expand its operation with the help of seed funding. The management is currently following up a lead.
How serious is the prospect of having seed capital to grow the business and why is it that they are so confident in winning? They are aware that attracting investors is hard and what they want to avoid is „bad signalling.“ Deal with caution is their motto. „You have to gain some allies quickly. People who believe in our vision in the same way and on the same scale as we do.“..Gian Schenkelberg, one of the owner’s sons who supports the venture as an Executive Associate explained. Besides, a recently produced trend analysis revealed a significant upwards trend in the last two years following the experience of bad trading locations.
The folks behind Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil trailer are hoping to take their Bavarian themed Bratwurst and beer concept to the next level by expanding their business to the larger music festival market. To that end, Regina and Stefan Schenkelberg, who started their German specialities food venture back in 2011, are preparing a presentation for meetings with potential investors. Their hope is to raise a minimum of £12500.00 to cover costs of outfitting the truck and a beer tent and working capital to handle higher volume.
Bavarian Oktoberfest culture fan Stefan Schenkelberg wants to expand Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil kitchen with a portable bar. There are two icons of the Bavarian summer – the Bratwurst and a cold steiner. But the budding businessman is aiming to expand their existing mobile kitchen to add a beer tent and beer bar. The business couple believes that it will make them the first portable vendor in England to offer a range of German beers and Bratwurst.
Passionate about Oktoberfest Beers.
Stefan said: „We have chosen to use our iconic food trailer because it is just so quintessentially Bavarian.“
„But Rainer’s Bavarian Grill van will take that idea and flip it on its head. Our Project will create an upgraded version of the Bavarian food van.“ He added: „We’re doing it because we’re passionate about Bavarian’s culture particularly during the month of October.
„And there are so many quality beers out there, particularly in the Bavarian region, and I don’t think people know enough about the range of possible offerings.“
If all goes as planned, Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil will start hitting up the art and music festival circuit around London and the southeast come summer. But eventually, the two owners would also like to take their venture even further. The long-term goal is to boost UK’s Oktoberfest fun ‚with an authentic touch‘ by adding more food trucks, trailers and beer tents to the business.
“That’s maybe two years down the road,” Schenkelberg says. “But we’ll always have our truck in Hertfordshire, our home base from where we soon begin our new licensed delivery service to Potters Bar homes. We love the Hertsmere district.”
Rainer’s Bavarian Grill has been a great boost for European’s longest market street in Walthamstow for the most part in 2016 and I know people would want to see them rolling out their Oktoberfest concept at this year’s Walthamstow Garden Party in July. They also want to see them organizing their own event’s in typical Bavarian Oktoberfest style.
It would be wonderful if this crowdfunding campaign is successful and Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil can expand with the proposed portable beer bar.
The food operator’s Chief Creator Stefan Schenkelberg, a business graduate from Germany and business man for many years in England, said: „I’m so thrilled that this campaign has been launched, it’s very exciting to think Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil will offer Oktoberfest themed parties with beer, music and good food for years to come.“
Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without the oil is owned and operated by Regina and Stefan Schenkelberg, a husband and wife team. „Unfortunately, the business couple is not in a position to fund the project outright so they have launched the crowdfunding appeal to allow the communities to back the expansion drive of Rainer’s Bavarian Grill with a portable beer bar if they also believe this would be a positive addition to the UK festival scenes.“

Thought about everything for the Bavarian-esque catering?
Within the meaning of Oktoberfest and Hofbräuhaus entertainment (dancing to traditional tunes etc) we are interested to streamline the coordination in terms of food and drinks….“as to what is most essential:“ Coffee and Tobacco. Because we know that coffee, tobacco and sea air alone won’t fill you up, we better ask for your opinion of the choice of stalls on a scale from 1 to 5 (while 5 means the highest importance or ‚very good‘).
We are continually looking to improve our services. Our aim is to bring the enjoyment of the culture we have been brought up with to London.
We would love to ask you a few questions on your expectations of village fetes and how we can help these festivals to be most enjoyable events.
The survey will take no more than 5 minutes of your time and at the end you can
enter our prize draw for a £10 Rainer’s Bavarian Grill voucher*. Please, when you finish, leave your email address and send a short message to news(at)gourmetexpressmobiles.com with ‚Service Testing Small Bavarian Style Village Fetes‘ in the subject line.

p style=“text-align:left“>We got, it seems, the ball rolling. Rainer’s Bavarian Grill without food and beer will be a thing of the past I hope. To a good Bratwurst a good beer is mandatory. I am sure this is no concern as the people of Westminster are well accustomed to German culture. My email to the organisers of Marylebone markets.
Here it goes:
Hi again……. ,
Thanks for your kind response.
I have now had the opportunity to look at the offered market in the church grounds off the high street. I also did some research. It appears that a German bakery/restaurant ‚fischer‘ is on the high street.
I was surprised that you haven’t had any traders yesterday. The pitch area is fine and it looks like we can only use a generator for the power supply.
Our food trailer is unique in terms of the shape but also in terms of the offerings. As you may be aware we have a Bavarian Hofbrauhaus themed stall (the Hofbrauhaus is famous in the world for the birthplace of the Oktoberfest). Having said this we would need to facilitate both, quality food and quality beers. The church ground offers an idyllic place to serve the quality footfall of Westminster’s prestigious Marylebone village.
I will now need to make inquiries with the LB of Westminster to find out about TEN’s. As I have some friends among the councillors I wouldn’t expect any problems or concern.
Please can you confirm the trading hours on a Thursday and also on Saturdays.
I look forward to your further reply.

It didn’t take too long for the food operators to locate another pitch in the North of London and they were actually looking to move to Edmonton Green to resume trading on a busy car park.
This time, they hoped, with some more enthusiasm and dedication by the finance company to whom they turned for their funding requirement. But, as sometimes happen with these organizations, they are not efficient and Schenkelberg responded in stronger terms when he stated: „They are not geared up to the job. We needed a decision within a reasonable time but a reasonable time to process any cash flow related funding requirement mustn’t take months but weeks. We are not waiting until we are running out of cash! This afternoon I have withdrawn our application for funding with immediate effect. We have other prospective locations in the pipeline and we will now laser focus on these.“
What happens next?
Unprecedented, family and friends last week have been able to put together funds to assist the business couple with the monies they need to give their ‚can‘ a new dress and to hopefully enable them to resume trading in the interim until resolving issues in relation to their London trading pitch.
The Islington food outlet plan, a take away shop that was to be named after Rainer Schenkelberg, hasn’t been materialized but the tribute is not forgotten; „Tribute to whom tribute is due. It is certainly the late brother of my dad ‚my beloved uncle Rainer‘ to whom tribute must be paid.“ Gian Schenkelberg, the Junior Director, explained and he points to a story posted last night by his father on social media:
The Schenkelberg’s are right on target. They eventually managed to move their business into a prominent trading area of London.
„We are not yet ready. The brand-new-refurbishment is still ahead of us and.. of course… the beer and the sit-in at our new Bavarian take away. We are not yet Rainer’s Bavarian Grill as we are planning but a big step closer,“ Stefan made clear when asked about the new set up. „This is all provisionally at present. The real wow factor will come,“ Stefan explained.
„Progress to us means a calculated approach to things. We are not rushing. For now people can sample our food but what what they don’t know yet is that we are not ready to roll full steam. We’re out spoiling taste buds and that was our main concern. Our operation is up and running for now.“… Regina explained.
